Called “the most inspiring show I’ve seen in years” by Ben Brantley of The New York Times, the story follows Billy as he stumbles out of the boxing ring and into a ballet class, discovering a passion that takes him by surprise, and takes his whole family on an incredibly uplifting adventure.

Through a panel interview and Q&A session, your students will gain an understanding of the skills and competencies related to specific career fields in the performing arts directly from Broadway professionals. Teachers benefit from bringing professionals right into the classroom through the technology of distance learning! Our new Teacher’s Guide connects the experience to the classroom curriculum.

A police officer's duties and responsibilities can vary from day to day. These duties and responsibilities can often range from highly dangerous and highly physical work to paper work or desk tasks. Whatever the assignment may be, police officers are expected to carry out the commands of their supervisors and to enforce the law ethically in the area under their jurisdiction.

Join us on December 2 when members of the Berea City Police Department share the education and training necessary to enter careers in law enforcement and discuss real-life experiences encountered on the job. Participating students will have the opportunity to ask questions and discuss issues with Detective Charles Gute and Officer Aaron Krouse.

Program Description		Kimberly J. Smith is a registered nurse with a specialization in the field of oncology (cancer treatment). In addition she has served in the position of office manager for a doctor's office in Middletown. She will be sharing her unique experiences in this expanding field of medicine. Students will have the opportunity to interact with this medical professional.
Program Format		1. Connections for audio and video checks will begin at 12:45 EST. The session will commence at 1:00. 2. The SOITA facilitator will introduce the guest and the participating schools. 3. The guest will give a brief background of training, education, job possibilities, and job growth. 4. Each interactive site will be called upon to ask questions of the guest. 5. The guest will share video, PowerPoint, or artifacts that help clarify the specific career.

Program Description		Come learn about the unique career of Steve Strawbridge, vice president of merchandise sales/licensing at the Pro Football Hall of Fame. He will be our featured speaker on November 24 at 10:00 AM and 12:00 Noon. Each session will last approximately 50-minutes with the majority of that time allowing students the ability to ask questions of the guest speaker. Strawbridge’s overall job responsibilities are two-part: (1) Overseeing all of the merchandising areas including the museum store (2) Working directly with the Hall of Famer’s in licensing contracts for marketing and merchandising opportunities such as autograph sessions and appearances. Strawbridge recently worked with Emmitt Smith, Jerry Rice and the other 5 new class members autographed over 100 items for the Hall of Fame. You will also learn about Strawbridge’s education background and his thoughts on how your students can someday obtain a position like this. Each videoconference is limited to three sites and the cost is $50 per site. Interested schools will be selected on a first come basis. The program is designed for grades 6th-12th and is supplemented by a classroom activity which is aligned with national standards of education.
