Grades 7-12: Making the Tools Professionals Use

WVIZ/PBS AND MAGNET CAREER EXPLORATION SERIES PROGRAM

Today’s Manufacturing Jobs

“Making the Tools Professionals Use”

Behind every product you use is a whole series of manufacturing accomplishments that made it possible. Consider an iPod. Someone designed the mold that formed the plastic case. Some company produced the tiny fasteners that hold it together. Someone ran the machine that joined the circuits and chips.

There’s a hidden world to manufacturing that offers an incredible diversity of challenging and rewarding careers. Manufacturing is not the dark and dingy shop that you’ve read about in 10-year old textbooks. It is a modern, high-tech environment where professionals use their hands-on skills and sophisticated machines to make incredibly innovative parts.

The best part is that manufacturers need people to make tomorrow’s products. Employers are ready to hire people with the mechanical aptitude and technical training to solve problems.

Join the people of Jergens, Inc. to learn about career opportunities in manufacturing. Find out what employers are seeking in candidates, and discover the benefits that a modern manufacturing career offers. Jergens team members will share their perspective on manufacturing careers and respond to questions from students in the local area.
