FREE Grades 7-12: Learn What it Takes to be a Design Engineer

In the very near future, a student sitting in an Ohio classroom right now is going to design or engineer a new machine that will change the way people live or work. Creativity and innovation is in our blood. We all know Thomas Edison was born in Ohio, but few realize that the list of major designers, engineers and inventors from
Ohio is quite long and very distinguished.

On Thursday morning, September 23, college interns working in the Product Design and Development division of MAGNET, the Manufacturing Advocacy & Growth Network, will tell why they’ve chosen to study design and engineering and apply their knowledge to the world of manufacturing. You’ll see where and how they work and use their
skills to help companies improve existing products and create cool new ones. The program will illustrate how art and science blend in the exciting world of advanced manufacturing.
