Exploring STEM Careers of Aeronautical Engineers
"Fuel Cells and Power Storage"
Join with an aeronautical engineer from the Thermal & Electrochemical Branch of the Propulsion Directorate of the Air Force Research Labs as he discusses his educational background, the path he took to get to where he is now, his real-life engineering experiences and what a normal day at the research labs would be like. He will describe his work with fuel cells, fuel reforming, and sulfur tolerant anodes. It will also include the basic chemistry used in fuel cells to generate electricity. There will be an overview of how and why fuel cells are used in the automotive industry and in the military to show how they can benefit the government and society as a whole. This presentation will demonstrate to the students how research logically progresses toward certain areas based on current issues and needs. Click here for the registration form.
